GoldSearch is a superior searching tool for Goldmine. Not only does it allow you search on multiple fields at the same time, but searches match your search phrase anywhere in the field. By using the FormDesigner, you can design a search form that contains any of the CONTACT1 or CONTACT2 fields. Bonus features include the ability find a contact based on a single address phrase or partial telephone number, and the ability to create groups directly from the result set.
